Kids love to paddle the kayak across the 50 m to lose themselves in a fantasy land that lies awaiting them there. The island offers a very safe playground – shallow water to frolick in; white sandy beaches to create sand sculptures or make believe cities; mangrove patches that house mudskips, fiddler crabs; squishy mud if that takes your fancy; large sand flats to chase the soldier crabs and watch the stingrays flap in shallow waters.

They are a short drive out to Tanawha and are set in 82 hectares of natural bushland. You will be amazed at the way the gardens are developed -so much to see . A real feature is the Sculpture garden

It took 20 tonnes of Queensland stone, 800 metres of wood edging, 2200 metres of turf, countless volunteer hours and several months of hard work, to create the Sculpture Garden, which was created to house the incredible pieces of art crafted by the eight sculptors who took part in the International Sculpture Symposium held at the gardens in 2005.
